Michael J. Dono is a partner in the firm's Miami office and the Chair of the firm's Appellate Practice Group. Mr. Dono was born in Miami Beach, Florida, and was raised in Miami. He graduated from the University of Miami School of Business, Coral Gables, Florida, in 1999 where he majored in Finance. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Miami, he continued his education at the University of Miami School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2002. While at the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Dono was a law intern to United States Magistrate Judge Stephen T. Brown, and was a law clerk at a Miami maritime and admiralty law firm. In 2008, he earned his Master of Science in Finance from Florida International University. Mr. Dono represents hotels, physicians and medical providers, major cruise lines, product manufacturers and distributors, international businesses, transportation companies, underwriters, including major marine domestic and international underwriters in state and federal court. He handles matters stemming from wrongful death, personal injury claims, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, mass tort and class actions, sexual assault claims, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, excursion liabilities, negligent security claims, premises liability claims, and claims asserted under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Mr. Dono is admitted to practice in Florida, as well as the Southern, Middle and Northern U.S. District Courts of Florida. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association and the Cuban American Bar Association.
