Hector V. Ramirez is a partner in the firm's Miami office. Mr. Ramirez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was raised in New York City. He graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, New York, where he majored in Legal Studies and Government. While at John Jay College, Mr. Ramirez worked with the New York State Law Department, Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. Mr. Ramirez was also an active member and an officer of the Law Society. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree at John Jay College, he attended St. John’s University School of Law, Jamaica, New York, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2000. Mr. Ramirez has spent his entire career focusing on litigation, including commercial litigation, medical and professional malpractice defense, personal injury defense, property and casualty, landlord/tenant disputes, breach of contract, mortgage foreclosures, complex business disputes, admiralty and maritime claims, products liability, and mass torts.
He has represented product manufacturers, distributors, the world’s largest passenger cruise lines, major marine domestic and international underwriters, doctors, international business in cases stemming from mass tort and class actions, wrongful death, personal injury claims, sexual assault claims, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, excursion liabilities, negligent security claims, premises liability claims, and claims asserted under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Mr. Ramirez is admitted to practice in Florida and New York, as well as the Southern and Middle U.S. District Courts of Florida. He is a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, and Dade County Bar Association.
